The Chemistry Library offers a required one
credit course, Chem 597R, Introduction to Library Research,
to incoming graduate students in the Department of Chemistry.
This course is taught over two semesters.
The course provides orientation to the Emory University Libraries
and to basic library services and resources including EUCLID,
Galileo, ILLiad (InterLibrary Loan), document delivery, Databases @ Emory, and the ejournals @ Emory databases. Local library and university
websites are presented along with remote websites specific
to the field of chemistry.
Hands-on exercises provide experience in searching Web of
Science, SciFinder Scholar, Beilstein
Crossfire, Gmelin, and a full range of full-text journals published
by the American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry,
Springer Verlag, Wiley, Academic Press, and Elsevier.
